PROFESSIONAL EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND EXHIBITS

One of the Registry’s missions is to hold professional education activities in the field of human temporal bone and brain histopathology. To reach the widest audience possible, Registry courses and workshops are offered free of charge.

The Registry will be on hand with newsletters and brochures.  We will also be performing database searches and displaying a working copy of the "3-D Model of Human Temporal Bone: A Stand-Alone Downloadable Teaching Tool". 


Past Educational Activities:

2005 On Wednesday, February 23rd, the Registry sponsored a symposium at the ARO Midwinter Meeting in New Orleans, LA.  The symposium was entitled, "Hereditary Hearing Loss: From Humans to Mice and Back".  Click for more details
2003

On Tuesday, June 10th, 2003, the Registry sponsored a Mini Seminar at the Tenth Triennial Meeting of the International  Otopathology Society in Boston, Massachusetts.  The Mini Seminar was entitled, "Molecular Approaches to the Study of Inner Ear Pathology"Click for more details

2002 On Tuesday, January 29th, 2002, the Registry hosted a half-day workshop at the ARO MidWinter meeting in St. Pete, Florida.  The workshop was entitle "The Molecular Pathology of the Temporal Bone". Click for more details
1999 On Friday, April 23, 1999, the Registry and the House Ear Institute sponsored the Third One-Day Workshop on Human Temporal Bone Histopathology at the Temporal Bone Laboratory of the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles, California. Click for Details.
1997 Full-day hands-on Workshop on Human Temporal Bone Histopathology. September 26, 1997 at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN (For details see the review in the Registry's Fall, 1997 newsletter, The REGISTRY, issue 5 (2); page 4).
1994  Full-day hands-on Workshop on Human Temporal Bone Histopathology, June 20, 1994 at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Boston, MA.
1995

In 1995, the Registry participated in the targeted session on human temporal bone pathology at the Association for Research in Otolaryngology (ARO) MidWinter Meeting. At this meeting, the Registry presented a slide session entitled, “An update on the NIDCD National Temporal Bone, Hearing and Balance Pathology Resource Registry.”

1993 On October 6, 1993, the Registry held a half-day course, “Human Temporal Bone Histopathology Update,” as a satellite function of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgeons (AAO-HNS) Meeting in Minneapolis, MN.
