DATABASE SEARCHES

Full Search:
Researchers and Clinicians can request thorough database searches free of charge by submitting a search request online or by contacting the Registry via phone or email. Results can usually be obtained within 24 hours.

Full searches are only performed for qualified researchers. Information obtained from the searches includes:

  • Demographic data, including location of the specimen, gender and age;

  • Processing data, including the type of fixative used, decalcifying agent, embedding medium, and cutting plane;

  • Historical data, including the donor’s clinical otologic and medical diagnoses, an otologic history, whether or not audiograms are available, whether vestibular testing was done, and what otologic surgery was performed;

  • Histopathologic data, including a description of the histopathologic findings, the histopathologic diagnoses, and

  • a case summary.
